St. Hild's Primary School Visit
May 2010
More info. on St Hild's at their website
During May we hosted 2 visits for some pupils from our local primary school, St. Hild's.
The children had the opportunity to ask any questions they had thought of (and believe me these covered a wide range of topics!)
The visit was very enjoyable both for the staff and the children, who had the chance to stroke some of our staff's own pets. These consisted of Elvis & Fudge the guinea pigs, Jill & Jess the ferrets & Isla a rescued greyhound.
Other activities also undertaken were dressing up as an operating veterinary surgeon in theatre gown/gloves/hat & mask, guess the body part on x-ray & spot the gastric foreign body.
Finally I would like to say a big 'thank you' to all the children who attended for all the lovely pictures we received, they were all really great and it's going to be so hard to pick my favourite!!

To be held in conjunction with DAP & SOUNDS SCARY
DAP & SOUNDS SCARY CLIENT INFORMATION EVENING
Bonfire night is becoming at least several weeks long! Of course fireworks are becoming increasingly popular at other celebrations throughout the year.
The distress caused can also affect your dog's perception of other loud noises. There is nothing worse than seeing your best friend trying to dig their way under the living room carpet or wedge themselves under your bed.
At Gilmoor Veterinary Group our plan is to try and ease the terror that can be firework night by holding a client information evening at our Durham branch. This will be held in conjunction with DAP (Dog Appeasing Pheromone) and 'Sounds Scary'. We will discuss general aspects of noise phobia and advise on how to obtain the best results from the aforementioned products.
Places will be limited and we also have a small number of the 'Sounds Scary' CD on offer at a discounted price to those attending (these will be on a first come, first served basis).
